Downloads Area Updated

Posted by Cartri on May 15, 2010 in Fast News / ReTweets |

I just added Dr. Hurt’s installer for Chameleon RC4 v3 to the downloads area. This is the boot-loader that should be used by MacBios users in order to have the bios full experience without “hurting” the bios’ informations. It already includes a UUID fix and the chameleon default theme (it looks nice)

    Hi

This is exciting stuff. I just built my second hack. I’ve been running a GA-EP35-DS3P, which runs well. I just built a GA-X58A-UD3R. It’s running great, but I sure like the concept of having things supported at the bios level. I’ll be quick to contribute when you get around to supporting the newer boards as well.

    Thanks

    Pandar

p.s. please send me an email, so I can send you something directly.

Hi Carti, Thanks for ur great work. The Chameleon v2.0-RC4 by AsereBLN has some more advanced features like correct memory and CPU type detection and other stuff however features like restartfix which is enabled by default is not needed for MacBios users. I think if it is possible for you to list features which should be disabled or enabled the setting in this specific distribution by AsereBLN, the mac on pc with ur bioses would be even more optimized.

Ues, asere’s job is great and respectable. Besides it bases on the idea u have a wrong bios. I have added dr hurt’s loader in the downloads section, in the future in the “cat jump” version no detection of ram or cpu will be needed. Until there the only relevant value to be provided by smbios is the memtype (ddr2 or 3) no wonder if your cpu is detected as a xeon, the system should be even more stable with it as macbios for P4X is based on MacPro3,1. 0.7q will add graphics enabler capability what will be of great use for ATI users and others.

What features ofe Asere u miss on Dr. Hurt version?

Thank you so much for all of your work! Can we please get access to the downloads area for the boot CD image and drivers, etc? I have two Cartri MacBIOS machines and really need the files as one of my drives has crashed. Thanks!
