iFixit Self-Repair Manifesto.

Posted by Cartri on Nov 9, 2010 in Ideology |

Our relationship with our stuff has spiraled out of control. We buy things, use them for a short while, and then replace them with the next model. Manufacturers build products that break quickly so we are forced to buy another.

That ends now. It’s time to take a stand!

If you can’t fix it, you don’t own it.

We need to shout this from the rooftops. Let’s post this manifesto in every coffee house, repair shop, and garage in the world.

Put it up everywhere

We really, really want people to read this manifesto. So much so that we printed up some awe-inspiring posters.

You can also download high resolution files here:

1650×2550 JPG (2.7 MB)
8.5″ x 11″ PDF (4.5 MB)
11″ x 17″ PDF (5.3 MB)
Print it out or get a copy from us, then put it up somewhere. Take a geotagged photo and add it to our flickr pool! We’ll make a map of the results and post it here. Let’s take the fight against planned obsolescence to the streets!
